When did I Start Programming?I started programming when I was 8 years old.
It was just an orginary day and I told my dad that I wanted to make games.
He sat me in front of the computer with the CodeBlocks C++ IDE and I attempted to learn C++.
But sadly, there was a problem.
He had downloaded the IDE without a compiler so when I attempted to compile a Hello World program it gave an error about a lack of a compiler
This issue would have been easy to fix, simply download the MinGW GCC compiler, however he instead downloaded Microsoft Small Basic for me to learn.
Small Basic was the first programming language I learnt and it was a really good experience.
Me, an 8 year old child, being able to have an idea and then make it into a program with relative ease.
After Small Basic, I moved on to Visual Basic 2010. I made a wide variety of programs which all sadly got lost in a hard drive failure.
Here's a list of some of the things I made.
- Various 2D shape area calculators
- A more advanced version of the maze game tutorial
